商业分析这个词从它的字面意思来讲，就是指对方案进行经济效益的分析，从财务上进一步判断他是否符合企业的目标，如果符合的话产品概念就可以进入产品研制的阶段。包括审视预计的销售额、成本和利润是否可以达到公司预计的目标，如果达到预计目标，那么这次产品概念，才能进一步发展到产品开发的阶段。也可以从商业或者是消费统计公告中查到特定产品的销售额、有效的购买收入、总的零售额来判断的。
商业分析也是主要以商业知识为基础，数理编程为手段，从数据分析来出发，以决策优化来创造价值的新兴专业，实现了大数据的商业应用。运用分析工具研究大数据的信息，搭建数据分析与商业管理的桥梁，指导商业决策的一门新兴的学科。
