其实早期的金融学是从经济学专业当中分离出来的，该专业其实是一门研究个人，企业以及政府，其他社会组织机构筹集和投资资金的一门学科。传统意义上的金融学专业主要研究两个方向，分别是微观层面的公司投资理论以及宏观层面金融市场运行理论；其分支学科主要包括金融工程，公司金融学，公共财政学，金融经济学，数理金融学，投资学，货币银行学等等。
